Played an actual jazz tune on fiddle, and found a video.
As I made the 20-minute walk to my jazz class this morning, I listened a few times to Chet Baker’s rendition of Autumn Leaves, in preparation for playing it on fiddle during class. (This is my preferred way to learn tunes.) I like how it turned out when I played it in class, so here’s the recording of the solo. I took two choruses. The head is omitted.
I also came across this video of Miles Davis performing So What. I like the way they filmed it—I think they achieved a fair balance between focusing on the musicians’ faces, the instruments themselves, and the background ambience.
